Just Rest

Jesus was sleeping in the boat when His disciples were trying so desperately to survive in the storm. I could do the same if I trusted the Lord! I could just rest with Him because I know He is there and He is able to save.

I see this tired little girl resting her head and her body on her Father’s chest. He holds her tight and shows her a small blue bird to make her smile. He sings her a lullaby so that she can fall asleep.

And I know she’ll be fine. I know she’ll be alright. That’s what Abba shows me since yesterday.

Bible references:

“That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”” (Mark 4:35‭-‬41)

“By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me— a prayer to the God of my life.”
(Psalms 42:8)

“But now, this is what the Lord says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. … Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no savior. I have revealed and saved and proclaimed— I, and not some foreign god among you. You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “that I am God. Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?”” (Isaiah 43:1‭-2, 11-‬13)
