Quietness of Heart

Since Blue Mountain Ministry is gaining more and more followers, I thought I’d talk about the vision behind this ministry today, by sharing what Jesus did at our recent Resurrection Small Group!

If you have ever read the first page of this blog, you may have read the following: “Blue Mountain Ministry is an online prophetic ministry for God’s children all around the world, equipping the church through the gift of prophecy with a lifestyle of power and freedom coming from the stillness of heart.” If you’re like me, you have trouble sleeping. You’re sensitive, a feeler, and you tend to get anxious easily. You easily overthink stuff, your mind is constantly working. Isn’t it amazing how God then picked someone like me to help people find rest in God? I’m preaching quietness of heart that comes from a true, intimate relationship with God and that by itself is a miracle! He saved me!

You know, I wouldn’t be here sharing the following series of visions with you if it weren’t for Him. I really want people to know who God is and I want strongholds to break; the sin that so easily entangles us to distance ourselves from God: unbelief and fear of punishment. I’m fighting for faith everyday and I do it with confidence and desperation at the same time – the former because I know I have direct access into the throne room of God, my Father, and the latter because I know how desperately I need Him every moment of my life! If I really want to live according to my purpose (because I am here on this earth for a reason until I return to my Father), then I need to stay alert and pray. I myself must ask the Holy Spirit constantly: what’s on the Father’s mind? I asked Him what He was planning with my small group and this is the first picture He showed me. I’ll quote it right from the E-Mail that I sent to all participants:

“I see God building a boat at a lakeside. He is not in a hurry. It is peaceful and quiet. The water is calm and clear, and the light is soft. His restful presence calms me down. ‘What is He building?’, I ask myself. But I do not want to disturb Him. He looks up at me and smiles at me, I sit there with Him and watch Him build. At the same time, I also see a baby – she is asleep, resting because she is cradled securely in the arms of the Father. Everything slows down. He keeps building the boat, yes, but everything slows down for me and it happens in my heart. There is rest in my heart as I lean my head on His shoulder.”

What happened over the next eight weeks was so incredibly beautiful and exciting for us! It was a humbling experience for me because God revealed to me straight from the beginning that every member was holding a treasure inside to be shared with people at the right time (Matthew 13:52). You seriously miss out on so much if you try to be the strong-leader-who-has-it-all-together. You don’t and that’s okay. God speaks to everyone and everyone can hear God clearly if they learn to listen to Him! Here is the next scene I saw during our second meeting:

Jesus is still building the boat. I see you all arriving here and gathering around a fireplace, and we talk. Jesus comes to sit with us.

I also had this picture during our third or fourth meeting:

Jesus is teaching us how to fish. He is teaching us a new method of “wooing them in.” You don’t use hooks to catch the fish – no, it hurts them. You just woo them in, they just come to you as you spread out your hands with food in the water. Jesus looks at me and says, “this is how you win people over. Do it gently. Be wise.” (Proverbs 11:30)

Then, finally, the boat is ready! Jesus invites us to journey into an infinity of love that transcends time and space! The very last vision I want to leave as a shared memory between our group members, but I can share this:

We were on the boat today. I asked where we were going.
He said, “the future.”
“What can I expect there?,” I asked.
“Love,” He answered.
“If it is love, then everything will be good, pleasing and perfect.”
He smiled at that.
God asked me, “Why do you want to see people set free?”
I thought for a moment and said, “because I love them.”
“Because you love them,” He said.
“The truth will set you free” (John 8:32b). Infinitely.
Because He loves us.

My friend, this is how I live! I couldn’t go a day without talking to Him. I’m not bragging, I’m just telling you it’s possible; we were made for this! Every time we have such an encounter with God, Scripture comes alive in us! God is perfectly satisfied with Himself. Jesus was a happy man, He was peace in person. He always went to pray to God first, that’s how He kept His faith alive. He knew we needed it. So, if even the Son of God needed those moments of prayer and intimate encounter with the Father, how are we supposed to live in the power of the Holy Spirit without such practices?

I want to help you to rise up higher above the noise and the chatter of this world to the place of encounter and stillness before God before you do anything! I want your relationship with God to be so strong that you truly walk out of the abundance of heart and bear the fruits of the Holy Spirit in everyday life! But focus back to Jesus: I will never forget the strong presence of His quiet love when He was building the boat. Everything became quiet because of Him. There could not be any intrusion in His presence – maybe just my own restlessness.

A Word for Those Who Are Transitioning

Right now it’s time to praise in the middle of the mess!

Is God transitioning you into something new? We all know that there is a time for transitioning and then a time to rest and to enjoy the new. So no wonder that you’re in a mess right now! It’s like cleaning up a full-packed drawer in your house. You first need to draw out all things! You need to sort things out, discard some of them, if necessary, and then it will look all good and tidy in the end. Clarity will come, but you won’t have it now. It’s not time yet, so why rush ahead of God? You can ask God for clarity, for sure, and it’s good to do that, but don’t expect all puzzle pieces to fit together now. Ask God for faith and patience in the process instead.

I will tell of the kindnesses of the Lord, the deeds for which He is to be praised.

Isaiah 63:7a NIV

In all their distress the Lord, too, was distressed. It was no envoy or angel but His own presence that saved them. In His love and mercy He redeemed them. He lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.

Isaiah 63:9 NIV

About a month ago, God showed me that Isaiah 63:7 was the sword of the Spirit to use in prayer against heaviness and hopelessness. When we brag about our Lord and all the things that He has done for us according to His compassion and kindnesses, depression is slain!

Isaiah 63:9 also encourages us to believe that God is going to come save us, no matter what. Are you afraid of making the wrong move? It’s good to strategize but not to overdo it. What does the Holy Spirit tell you? Just do that, nothing more, nothing less. And even if you make the wrong decision, you are still His beloved child. You will only need to cry out to God and He will come save you. He will lift you up and carry you, again and again.

Oftentimes, when we get caught up in worries that we might make a mistake, we end up not seeing clearly. On the other hand, when we are still before God and know who He is and who we are in Christ, we see enough to base our decisions on what’s most important.

You are His precious child.

He delights in you.

He is so proud of you for trusting Him and making the move.

He’s got you.

He’s got your family.

He is never leaving you.

So keep praising Him! Give Him all the glory! Keep actively breaking off heaviness and any opposition in the spirit by lifting up the name of the Lord in prayer and worship. It’s not a time to lie disheartened in bed. It’s a time to awake and to reign in the middle of the mess!
