God Can Take Care of Himself; the Proud Will Fall

When the Philistines captured the ark of God, they brought it from Ebenezer to Ashdod. Then the Philistines took the ark of God and brought it into the house of Dagon and set it up beside Dagon. And when the people of Ashdod rose early the next day, behold, Dagon had fallen face downward on the ground before the ark of the Lord. So they took Dagon and put him back in his place. But when they rose early on the next morning, behold, Dagon had fallen face downward on the ground before the ark of the Lord, and the head of Dagon and both his hands were lying cut off on the threshold. Only the trunk of Dagon was left to him. This is why the priests of Dagon and all who enter the house of Dagon do not tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod to this day.

1 Samuel 5:1-5 ESV

Sometimes our pride and fears drive us to rush ahead of God. We fail to wait and become unwise in managing the revelation we have received from God. “He is too slow,” we might say, “He is not coming through.” Can we deny these thoughts? All in all, we are doing it for God and He is just not responding the way we would have Him.

This morning I hear the Lord say to His people that it is enough! He can take care of Himself and nothing we do, no matter how noble the cause, will push Him into a box. He is God, the Creator of the universe. Let the whole world know and bow before Him! Lift up His name and get ready to be in awe of the grand schemes of Jahweh!

Dagon is no match to Him. Dagon is believed to be the father of Baal but what if he is the idol of idols? His head shall be cut off and so his hands! The fear of God shall set mightily on all who serve them!

Lift us His name! Drench your days and nights with worship and proclaim that in His time, what needs to fall will fall and what needs to be raised will be raised. Tremble before the Lord and learn to truly cherish the revelation He has given you. Learn to manage wisely with love and self-discipline. I feel this fire, this roar inside of me this morning that even if His own house and His own people fail to honor and treasure His thoughts properly, He will show Himself holy to the world. He will make the proud fall.

The proud will fall.

Amen.

Prophetic Warning: Who Is Your All?

This morning I had a dream where God showed me several cases of idolatry. I only remember one part of the dream because I was curious, even in the dream, as to why this woman was judged guilty. I know that this word is for someone. My beloved sisters, please be careful not to make an idol of a man. It’s the same for you, brothers – never make an idol of a woman you love. It’s idolatry before the Lord and therefore NOT HARMLESS. Fear God and you will be healed and set free!

In the dream, I saw a young woman (around 20 years old) who was happy to be with the love of her life. I was shown a scene from her everyday life: she kissed him goodbye in the morning as they were leaving the house and she told him that he was her all. My All,” she said. Now in the dream, I was being led from one scene to another to see in which cases people were committing idolatry and displeasing God. As I saw the young couple, I could not understand why the weight of her sin should be so heavy. I asked the Lord and the woman spoke again, this time for everyone in the street to hear, that the man was My All! I then understood why. She was actually worshipping the man, not God. Even if in reality she was not telling everyone or even her lover that he was her all, God knew what was deep inside her heart, He exposed it by making her say it herself. This is what happens when you are before God. You cannot fake it. Your mouth will say what’s inside and what you’re mostly thinking about.

Warnings From Israel’s History

For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.

Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did. Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: “The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.” We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did—and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died. We should not test Christ, as some of them did—and were killed by snakes. And do not grumble, as some of them did—and were killed by the destroying angel.

These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come. So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry. I speak to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I say.

1. Corinthians 10:1-15 NIV

Remember the number one commandment we are to obey as God’s people:

And God spoke all these words: “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me.”

Exodus 20:1-3 NIV

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.”

Matthew 22:37-38 NIV

Here is a prayer you can pray:

My God, I thank you that you examine my heart and that you tell me what's going on inside my heart. Forgive me for making an idol out of the man I desire and giving him more room than You. I repent for breaking the very first commandment and I ask you to release me from this burden of sin. Please set me free from deception so that I may not perish. Fill me with Your Spirit that I may see you more clearly! Open the eyes of my heart and awaken a hunger in me, only for You. I want to pursue you more than I pursue this guy. I am truly sorry for grieving you and making you jealous. I am sorry for not believing that you are the love of my life. I cannot see it yet, God, my heart fails me again and again, but you are strong where I am weak. So I surrender my heart to you and ask you to do what only you can do. Show me the next steps so that I can live out what I just confessed and really return to you. I praise you for your mercy and goodness. Thank you for your love. I believe, Lord. Give me grace and give me faith. Amen.

God bless you!
