I turned off my phone and I am drinking with the one most dear to me.
What is this drink? I have never seen such a drink before; it must be heaven.
Have I seen myself laugh so heartily, too, in a long time? I am grabbing my belly and laughing out loud!
He stands up, my beloved, opposite me – using gestures and telling me His story.
Oh, I see His bright face, His brilliant eyes – have I ever seen anyone so pure like Him?
I feel so clean in His presence, like nothing can go wrong;
His holiness is healing me.
And who are you, Mr. Angel? I have never seen you before, either!
How strange you look! You ask me for a dance!
And I am laughing and dancing –
I do not know you but you are ministering to me
Because He commanded you to.
Jesus!
Oh, my Jesus!
It was a good day. You are giving me the perfect closure for a well-spent day.
Is this the abundance of Your house, which you talk about in the Psalms?
How I wish others would believe, too, in the beauty
Of having a home to go to where your beloved waits
To sit at the dinner-table with you after a long day
Having His angels minister to you
To cheer you up over a drink, and to encourage you with fun
And you are crying because it is the perfect gift for you;
the perfect reward for obedience.
